Sailing characteristics

We like the excellent workmanship of the Cumulant as well as the practical design of the interior and the seaworthiness. The ship sets off softly into the sea and gives the crew the opportunity to adjust to the rhythm of sea and ship. And under sail, we don’t have to worry about any comparison with “modern cruising yachts”. ATHENE can keep up well with many of these boats of the same length, close to the wind she even has advantages. On longer distances, we sail only with boomed out “Genoa I” and made without any sporty ambition nautical days between 130 and 140 nm. Best score so far was 155.

However, speed is of secondary importance, safety and sea characteristics are more significant. Due to the shape of the hull at the stern, swell and therefore noises do not disturb the sleep of the crew; wonderful!
